Leone Derrick Bates of J. F. Hawkins Nursing Home, formerly of 512 Whitmire Hwy., Joanna passed away Tuesday, January 17, 2006.
She was born July 29, 1918 in Lexington County; was a daughter of the late Jodie O. and Ellie Holly Derrick.
She is survived by her sons and their wives, Nat and Connie Bates of Joanna; Willard and Betty Bates of Laurens; seven grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband of fifty-eight years, Wallace S. Bates, four brothers and five sisters.
She was a faithful member of First Baptist Church of Joanna.
Graveside services will be held Thursday, Jan. 19th at 11:00 a.m. in Pinelawn Memory Gardens conducted by the Revs. Joe Baldwin and Mark Bernshausen.
The family is at their respective homes and will receive friends immediately following the services.
Memorials may be made to the First Baptist Church of Joanna, 301 Magnolia St., Joanna, SC 29351.
