Lila Mae Gordon, age 75 of 152 Campground Rd. and widow of Robert V. Gordon died Saturday, September 10, 2011 in the Hospice House of Laurens County.
She was born in Greenville, SC and was a daughter of the late Rev. James E. Coker and the late Alma Lee Norris Coker.
Mrs. Gordon retired from Laurens Shirt Company and was a member and former Sunday school teacher of Believer’s Assembly.
Surviving are five sons, Robert Gordon and wife, Ann of Irmo, Ronnie Gordon and wife, Judy, John Gordon and wife, Betty, Danny Gordon and Jessie Gordon all of Laurens; one daughter, Charlene Edwards and husband, David of Laurens; two brothers, Rev. Joe Coker and wife, Shirley of Laurens, Jamie Coker of Travelers Rest; one sister, Loretta Bailey and husband, Bill of Laurens; fourteen grandchildren; twenty great grandchildren and one great-great grandchild.
In addition to her parents and husband Mrs. Gordon was predeceased by and infant son, David Gordon; three sisters, Wilma Coleman, Rose Lee Jones, Juanita Hawkins; two brothers, Richard Coker and Buck Coker and one grandson, Chad Edwards.
Funeral service will be conducted Wednesday, Sept. 14th at 3:00 p.m. at the Gray Funeral Home Chapel of Laurens by Rev. Mike Campbell with burial in Forest Lawn Cemetery.
The family will receive friends Tuesday evening from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
