Lillian Ruth "Tootsie" Steele Tankersley

Ruth “Tootsie” Tankersley, age 72 of 34 Union Street, died Tuesday, Jan. 10th in the Lexington Medical Center.
She was born in Whitmire and was a daughter of the late H. B. and Lillian Nix Steele.
She was a former employee of Presbyterian Home.
Surviving are her husband, Clyde W. Tankersley, Jr. of the home, daughters and son-in-law, June Tankersley, Cornelia Nelson and Darlene and Stanley Wicker all of Whitmire, one brother, Donald Steele of Whitmire and one sister, Mildred Walker of Chapin; six grandchildren and seven great grandchildren.
Funeral services will be conducted Thursday, Jan. 12th at 2:00 p.m. in Friendship Baptist Church with burial in Whitmire Cemetery .
The family will receive friends Wednesday evening from 6 to 8 p.m.
