"Do not let your hearts be troubled. You believe in God; believe also in Me. My Father's house has many rooms; if that were not so, would I have told you that I am going there to prepare a place for you? And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come back and take you to be with me that you also may be where I am. You know the way to the place where I am going." John 14:1-4
Linda Schofield Lothridge, 79, of Laurens passed away on August 19, 2024 at her home. She was surrounded by her family. She was the daughter of the late Howard Arthur Schofield and Sarah Pauline Lollis. She was predeceased by a brother Earl Schofield and wife Susan Schofield.
She enjoyed spending time with her family. Family meant the most to her after her Lord Jesus Christ. She has always been a shining example of a child of God. When she smiled, she could light up the room. She had a great sense of humor. She was the best Mama and Nanny you could have ever asked for.
She was a member of Sharon Pentecostal Holiness Church in Hickory Tavern. Over the years she was involved in various activities within the church. She helped to make our Vacation Bible School one of the best and exciting activities for all the children in the community.
To keep her memory alive she is survived by her son Tim Lothridge Sr and daughters Candy Wilson Lothridge and Paula Lothridge Gilstrap. Five grand-children Jessica Lothridge, Timothy Lothridge Jr., Matthew Gilstrap, Jessica Raines Gilstrap, and Joshua Lothridge. Three great-grand-children Sara Lothridge, Dominick Gilstrap and Eliana Grace Lothridge. Of course we can't forget the beautiful gift God has on the way. Also a brother Jerry Schofield (Linda), nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends, Saturday, August 24, 2024 from 5:00-6:00 PM at Sharon Pentecostal Holiness Church. A Memorial service will follow at 6:00 PM at the church.
Memorials may be made to Sharon Pentecostal Holiness Church in her name. She always said the youth is the future of the church.
The kind words will be spoken by Charles Simpson, who was her Sunday school teacher years ago, and a friend. She loved to go to hear what Charles was going to teach her on Sunday mornings. The message will be brought by Pastor Randy Anderson.
To all who have come by to see her and brought things for the family we want to say a big thank you. This time has been hard, and you have made it a little easier. God bless you.
