Lona Smith Ladd

Lona Smith Ladd, age 74, widow of Howard C. Ladd, II, passed away peacefully at home, June 7, 2022.
She was born May 29, 1948 in Lexington, SC and was a daughter of the late David Hope and the late Eula Miles Smith.
“Grandma” had a profound effect on her family and friends. Her strong faith in the Lord and a love of fishing were two things she hoped to pass along.
Lona was a member of the New Beginning Church of God of Prophecy in Clinton.
She is survived by her children, Jim (Tracey), Elizabeth, Richard (Leanne); her grandchildren, James (Kendra), Darren (Debra), Melissa (Alex), Haley, Joshua, Harley (Stephen), Cody, Damein (Zee), Bella, Macy, Alayna, and Lydia; her great-grandchildren, Hunter, Lexi, Lindley, Faith, Laine, Waylon, Barrett, Conner, Bryson, Mary Beth, Annaleigh, Essie Kate, and Caroline; her special daughter, Jennifer Armstrong; and numerous neices, nephews, and cousins that she cherished.
Mrs. Lona was the last surviving member of her immediate family.
Her family will miss her quick wit and stories. They will move on knowing that a good cup of coffee and her prayers will be with them always.
Graveside Services will be conducted 2 PM Friday, June 10, 2022 at Forest Lawn Cemetery with Rev. Jackie Bragg officiating.
The family will receive friends Thursday evening, June 9, 2022 from 7-9 PM at Gray Funeral Home of Laurens.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Hospice of Laurens County, PO Box 178, Clinton, SC 29325 or to the Laurens County Cancer Association, P.O. Box 0006, Clinton, SC 29325.
