Lonnie Aster Thacker, Sr.

Lonnie Aster Thacker, Sr. age 80 of 2651 Georgia Road, went home to be with his Lord on Tuesday, March 13, 2007.
He was born in Hoot Owl, VA and was a son of the late Walker James and Maxie Raines Thacker.
He was a member of Pilgrims Home Old Regular Baptist Church of Virginia and a World War II U. S. Navy Veteran.
Surviving are his wife, Melvina Fuller Thacker of the home, six sons, Lonnie A. Thacker, Jr., Victor M. Thacker and Jeffery J. Thacker and his wife, Joyce all of Gray Court, Donnie L. Thacker and his wife, Patsy of Hickory Tavern, Dennis H. Thacker and his wife, Kathy of Johnson City, TN and Darrell B. Thacker and his wife, Lilly of Haysi, VA; two brothers, Garnie Thacker of Florida and Fennie Thacker of Virginia; two sisters, Nell Ratliff of VA and Myrtle Parham of Ohio, twelve grandchildren and fifteen great grandchildren.
He was predeceased by an adopted son, Robert Tice.
Funeral services will be conducted Friday, March 16th at 11:00 a.m. in the Gray Funeral Home Chapel of Laurens with burial in Pinelawn Memory Gardens of Clinton.
The family will receive friends Thursday evening at the Gray Funeral Home in Laurens from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m.
