Louis "Buck" Meeks

Louis “Buck” Meeks, age 79, of Clinton, passed away, Sunday, October 13, 2024, at his home.

Born December 29, 1944, in Laurens County, he was the son of the late J.C. Meeks and the late Frances Holmes Meeks. Buck worked for Clinton Mills until its closing and later retired from Teknor Apex. He was an active member and Elder of Lydia Presbyterian Church, where he enjoyed being involved in many activities. 

Surviving are his daughter, Leslie Meeks Holden (Jerry) of Clinton; his sister, Susie Meeks Madden of Laurens; he was a special ‘Pop” to his grandchildren, Jessy Holden (Heather) and Lynsey Holden; his great-grandchildren, Cason Holden and Adalyn Holden; his sisters-in-law, Gail Meeks and Patty Meeks; and several nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, Buck was preceded in death by his brothers, James William Meeks, Kenneth Edwin Meeks, and Thomas Eugene Meeks; his brother-in-law, George Madden; and his great-grandchild, Micah Holden.

A Memorial Service will be held at 3:00 PM on Wednesday, October 16, 2024, at the Gray Funeral Home Chapel of Clinton with Rev. Charmaine Smith and Rev. Herb Codington officiating.

The family will receive friends prior to the service from 2:00 – 3:00 PM at the funeral home.
