Lucy Johnson Mathis, age 88, of Whitmire, passed away Sunday, June 6, 2021, at her home.
She was born July 12, 1932, in Newberry and was a daughter of the late Charlie Luther Johnson and the late Verona Davenport Johnson. Mrs. Mathis was the owner and operator of Mathis Residential Care, Inc., in Whitmire.
She is survived by her son, William Lewis Glenn, Jr. of Newberry; her daughter, Verona Wilbanks of Whitmire; her grandchildren, Kelsey Wilbanks, Toby Wilbanks, and Jacob Robertson; great-grandchildren, Brayanna Brooks, and Jayda Crompton; and granddaughter at heart, Hayleigh Deputy.
A Memorial Service will be held Saturday, June 12, 2021, 2PM at Gray Funeral Home Chapel of Whitmire with Rev. Paul Rowe officiating.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Newberry County Disabilities and special needs, 115 Nance Street, Newberry, SC 29108.
