Lucy Lawson Stroud

December 26, 1919 — November 11, 2010

Lucy Lawson Stroud age 90, of Whitmire died Thursday, Nov. 11th at the Hospice of the Piedmont in Greenwood, S.C.
She was born in Blackwater, Lee County, Virginia on December 26, 1919 and was a daughter of the late George Lawson and Syntha Lawson.
Mrs. Stroud was retired from J.P. Stevens and was a member of the First Church of God of Whitmire.
She is survived by a daughter, Sylvia Duncan and husband, Stuart; two sons, Tom Stroud and wife, Janice of Laurens, and Dan Stroud and wife, Dianne of Whitmire; six grandchildren; and eleven great grandchildren.
In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her husband, Thomas Earl Stroud, her brothers and sisters, George Lawson, Milum Lawson, Quillen Lawson, Dollie Strickland and Winnie Gruber.
Funeral services will be conducted Sunday, Nov. 14th at 2:00 p.m. at the Gray Funeral Home Chapel with burial in Whitmire Cemetery.
The family will receive friends Saturday evening from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
The family will be at the home at 1541 South Church Street in Whitmire.
