Lyl Walker Hamilton, age 87, widow of James William (Billy) Hamilton died Friday
December 2nd in the Martha Franks Retirement Center.
She was born in Cross Hill and was the daughter of the late Rufus Franklin and Edith Anderson Walker.
Mrs. Hamilton was the bookkeeper at Hamilton Recapping and Marine, was a member of the First Presbyterian Church where she was also a Sunday school teacher.
She is survived by three daughters and sons-in-law, Mary Hamilton Burris and husband, Roger of Laurens, Lee H. Thornton and husband, David of Ashville, NC and Laura H. Fanning and husband, William of Augusta, GA; six grandchildren, Matt Gilstrap and wife, Emily, Mitchell Gilstrap and wife, Melissa, Mark Gilstrap, Luke Roberts and wife, Amanda, William Roberts and wife, Tonya and Kelli Francis and husband, Tom and seven great grandchildren, Kaitlyn Roberts, Grace Roberts, Chase Roberts, Colton Roberts, Mandy Francis, Alex Francis and Ava Lyl Francis.
Following a private graveside service, a memorial service will be held Monday, December 5th at 11:00 a.m. in the First Presbyterian Church.
The family will receive friends immediately following the memorial service.

The family will be at the home of her daughter, Mary Hamilton Burris, 706 Owens Dr., Laurens.
