Maggie Nelson Reynolds, age 99, formerly of Clinton, South Carolina passed away on Mother’s Day, Sunday, May 9, 2010 at home in Rock Hill, South Carolina after a brief illness surrounded by family.
Mrs. Reynolds was born in Abbeville County, South Carolina in 1911 and was the daughter of the late Benjamin and Palmira Reynolds. Prior to moving to Rock Hill in 2001, she lived in Honea Path, Greenwood, and for almost 50 years in Clinton, South Carolina where she was a homemaker. Mrs. Reynolds also worked at Belk’s Department store and at Presbyterian College Dining Hall. Mrs. Reynolds was an active member of the St. John’s Lutheran Church in Clinton. In her spare time, Mrs. Reynolds enjoyed studying the Bible, reading, playing the piano, gardening and was an avid baseball fan. She was truly a loving and caring person who loved life and learning and was devoted to her church and her family. She will be greatly missed by all.
Mrs. Reynolds was the widow of the late Julian Reynolds and was predeceased by her two beloved children, Dr. Robert Reynolds and Shirley Reynolds. She is survived by her daughter-in-law, Bobbye Reynolds of Knoxville, TN; four grandchildren, Mara Reynolds of Knoxville, TN, Christian Reynolds of New York, Joseph Reynolds of Rock Hill, and Stephanie McAllister of Roswell, GA, as well as six great-grandchildren.
Gray Funeral Home is assisted the family and funeral services were held at Greenwood Memorial Gardens, Friday, May 14th.
