Mahlon Gunn Moore

 Mahlon Gunn Moore, age 78, husband of Gail Guthrie Moore, passed away peacefully, on Saturday, February 1, 2025 at Compassus Open Arms Hospice House.

 He was born on September 26, 1946 in Washington, Georgia and was the son of the late Robert Edward Moore and Roma Tena Gunn Moore. He was the youngest of eight children. Mahlon was a graduate of the University of Georgia, a proud US Navy Veteran serving his country in Vietnam, a retired Registered Forester and a member of Westminster Presbyterian Church.

 In addition to his wife of 54 years, Mahlon is survived by his son, Kenneth Moore (Marguerite) of Greer; his daughter, Corry Garner (Andy) of Franklin, TN; his grandchildren, Graham Moore (Cindy), Daniel Moore, Corinne Garner and Benjamin Garner; his brothers, Jimmy Moore (Jean), Jerry Moore, Larry Moore (Margie) and his fraternal twin, Marvin Moore (Bobbi); his sister, Dolores McCabe and his sisters-in-law, Joyce Moore and Connie Moore. 

 He is preceded in death by his parents, brothers, Jene Moore and Jesse Moore and his sister-in-law, Carol Moore. 

 A Funeral Service will be held on Saturday, February 8, 2025 at 2:00 PM at Gray Funeral Home Chapel of Laurens with Rev. Chad Reynolds officiating. The family will greet friends at the funeral home from 1:00 PM – 2:00 PM. A Graveside Service with Military Honors will be held on Sunday, February 9, 2025 at Raytown Baptist Church Cemetery, 4641 Raytown Road NE, Crawfordville, Georgia at 2:00 PM 

 In lieu of flowers, the family request memorials be made to the Alzheimer’s Association.
