Margaret Crowder Cooper, age 87, a resident of the Presbyterian Home in Clinton and former resident of Laurens passed away Sunday, Sept. 15th at the Laurens County Memorial Hospital.
She was born in Greer and was a daughter of the late Vance W. and Ethel Mitchell Crowder.
Mrs. Cooper retired from Edward Jones in Laurens and was a member of the First Presbyterian Church. She was a former member of the Lee Road United Methodist Church and former treasurer of the Laurens County Hospital Auxiliary. Mrs. Cooper enjoyed many things in her life, but especially enjoyed her time playing bridge with her friends and singing in the church choir.
Surviving are two daughters, Mary Katherine Hudgins of Central and Nancy Hudgins Ridley and husband, Dennis of Laurens; grandchildren, Joseph Haywood Schnau and wife, Nancy of TX, Mary Stewart Adair Carrington and Margaret Lacey Adair both of VA and Heather (Carrie) West of NC.
In addition to her parents she was predeceased by three husbands, Haywood W. Hudgins, Lloyd G. Richard and Col. Charles G. Cooper and a son, Robin W. Hudgins.
Graveside services will be conducted Wednesday, Sept. 18th at 11:00 a.m. at the Taylors First Baptist Church Cemetery in Taylors, SC.
The family will receive friends Tuesday evening from 7:00 to 8:30 p.m. at the Gray Funeral Home of Laurens.
