Margaret Jean Hopper Richardson passed away September 15, 2014 in Laurens, South Carolina at the age of 93.
Jean was born November 8, 1920, the daughter of the late I.D. and Pauline Hopper in Clover, SC. She spent most of her life in Chester, where she was a member of First Baptist Church. In recent years, she has resided at Martha Franks Retirement Community in Laurens, SC, where she continued her love of growing flowers and learning and making new friends.
Married in 1939, she was the wife of the late Edward Kennedy Richardson.
Jean is survived by her only son, W. Keith Richardson and wife Tallulah of Clinton/Cross Hill, SC; two grandchildren, William K. (Bill) Richardson, Jr. of Charleston, SC and Tallulah (Tee) and husband, Chuck King of Anderson, SC; two great grandchildren, Cal and Kirby King also of Anderson.
Also surviving are sisters Jerry Grant and husband Carl and Eleanor Benson and late husband Bobby Benson.
Mrs. Richardson was preceded in death by two brothers; Donald Hopper and William “Bill” Hopper and surviving sister-in-law, Iva Jean Hopper.
Mrs. Richardson was preceded in death by two sisters; Doris Binns and Johnnie Mae McKay.
Mrs. Richardson is also survived by many loving nieces and nephews.
Funeral service will be held on Thursday, Sept. 18, 2014 at 10:30 A.M. in Razor Chapel at Martha Franks Retirement Community. The family will receive friends following the service at the chapel.
A graveside service will be held Thursday, Sept. 18, 2014 at 3:00 P.M. at Chester Memorial Gardens, Chester SC. The family will receive friends following the service at the cemetery.
