Dateline – Clinton
Margaret Stickney Undari, wife of Alfio R. Undari, passed away under hospice care at her home in Clinton, SC on Sunday December 16, 2018. She was born July 7, 1929 in Easton, Maine and was the eldest child of Norman and Delia Bradstreet Stickney. She and Alfio were married in Torrington Connecticut on July 1, 1950.
After finishing high school in Maine, Margaret trained in Boston, then worked as an X-ray technician in Torrington before the family moved to Clinton in January 1962, where her husband was instrumental in starting the Clinton Bearings Plant.
Margaret was a member of Saint Boniface Catholic Church in Joanna for 57 years. As a devoted wife and mother, she volunteered with many of her children’s activities and local causes. She was a campfire leader, catechism instructor, and assisted the local schools with hearing screening. Once her children were grown, she began working at H&R Block in Clinton and worked there for many years.
In addition to her husband of 68 years, she is survived by her children: Susan Young (Jimmy), Donna Brehmer (Larry), Peter Undari (Melinda Cunningham), all of Clinton and Anita Hicks (Michael) of Chapin, SC. Also surviving are grandchildren, Jim Young (Jennifer), Jeffrey Young (Ashley), Judson Brehmer (Kirsten), Bill Brehmer (Cailla), Jennifer Undari, Michael Undari, Jordan Hicks, and Ryan Hicks, four great grandsons and four great-granddaughters. She is also survived by her siblings Marjorie Martin (Aldo), Gail Melkonian (John), Harry Stickney (Dawn), Lynn Morrill (Bill), and Donald Stickney (Kathy).
Visitation will be at Gray Funeral Home on Wednesday, December 19, 2018 from 5 to 7 PM, with a private service for the family before.
