Margaret Satterfield Oakley

Margaret Oakley of Grandview Acres, died Saturday, October, 29, 2011 at the age of 98. Born April 11, 1913 she was the daughter of Martin Satterfield and Haynic Armstrong of Gray Court.
Margaret lived in Clinton for 80 years. She devoted her life to her family and God. She listened to preaching every Sunday morning and made lunch every Sunday afternoon for the family up until a year ago. She favored homemade biscuits and salmon patties and always had a “little something sweet”. There was plenty of good food and relaxing chats on the front porch. She loved gospel singing, fishing and old movies and she watched “the Days of Our Lives” for over 50 years. She was loved by all who knew her and will be sorely missed.
Margaret is survived by her son, Billy Oakley of Woodruff, SC, her daughter Jean Dawkins of Clinton, 7 grandchildren, 25 great grandchildren and 5 great-great grandchildren.
She was predeceased by her husband, J. Pruitt Oakley and 2 sons, J.D. Oakley and Johnny Oakley both of Clinton.
Graveside services will be conducted Monday at 3:00 p.m. in Rosemont Cemetery
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Lydia Baptist Church, Palmetto St., Clinton, SC 29325.
