Marjorie Ann Ballinger, age 64 of 100 Abraham Way went to be with her Lord and Savior Thursday, January 27, 2011.
She was born in Dover, Delaware and was a daughter of the late Edgar Allen and Mary Hester Downs Ford.
Mrs. Ballinger was a former employee of Kemet Electronics of Simpsonville with 31 years service, she was also a member of her husband’s church, Community Chapel Freewill Baptist Church where she served the church in many capacities. Mrs. Ballinger also enjoyed volunteering her time with the Young Farmer’s Association in Hickory Tavern.
Surviving are her husband, Rev. Leslie Allen Ballinger; a son, Christopher Ballinger and wife, Joyce of Hickory Tavern; one daughter, Tamera Smith and husband, James of Laurens; one sister, Joyce Webber and husband, Bill of Kenton, DE; a brother, Wayne Ford and wife, Valerie of Smyrna, DE and four grandchildren, Seth and Shannon Smith and Lauren and Olivia Ballinger.
Funeral services will be conducted Monday, Jan. 31st at 2:00 in the Community Chapel Freewill Baptist Church by Rev. Kenny Gilbert with burial in the church cemetery.
The family will receive friends Sunday afternoon from 3:00 to 5:00 p.m. at the Gray Funeral Home in Laurens.
