Mark Odell King

Mark Odell King, age 77, husband of Diane B. King passed away Saturday April 19, 2025 at his home.

He was born in Clinton, S.C. on August 31, 1947 and was a son of the late Hall Odell King and Marion Ruth Bouknight King.

Mark was a graduate of Clinton High School and the University of South Carolina, was a veteran of the United States Army and retired from Whitten Center. He was an active member of the First Baptist Church of Clinton where he enjoyed singing in the choir.

Surviving in addition to his wife of 50 years are, his son at heart, Jason Templeton (Kristina) and their children, Brooklyn Nunn, Elijah Templeton and Ava Templeton, a sister, Martha King Campbell, many nieces and nephews and special cousins, George and Harriett Reid.

In addition to his parents he was predeceased by his son, Cory Alexander King, two brothers, Philip King, Matthew King and a sister, Sylvia Ballew.

Funeral service will be conducted 2:00 P.M., Tuesday, April 22, 2025 at the First Baptist Church of Clinton by Rev. Dr. Blake Harwell and Rev. Jay Roland, entombment will follow at the Pinelawn Memory Gardens Mausoleum.

The family will greet friends an hour before the service 1:00 to 2:00 P.M. at the church.

In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to the First Baptist Church of Clinton, 301 S. Broad St., Clinton, SC 29325 or the Laurens County Cancer Association, 1337 Medical Ridge Rd., Clinton, SC 29325.
