Mark Szymanski, age 68, of Hampton Avenue, passed away November 14th, 2017 at his home.
He was born in London, England and was the son of the late Janek (Jan) Robert Szymanski and Aleksandra (Ola) Jadwiga Szostak Szymanskiof Spartanburg, S.C.
Mr. Szymanski came to America when he was two years old with his parents on the Queen Mary Ship. Mark joined the Navel service in late 1969 early 1970 and stayed in for six years serving his time on the U.S.S. Constellation. He served as one of the ships radar technicians. A few months after his tour ended he met his late wife Rhee Szymanski where they soon married in December of 1976. He graduated from Clemson University with a degree in Forestry. Mark retired from Laurens School District 56 Technology Services. Mark was an active member at First Presbyterian Church in Clinton, involved with senior choir, hand bells, and once serving as an Elder. He was an avid fly fisher and was involved with Laurens County Community Theater with his late wife.
Mark has joined his loving wife Rhee in the Church Triumphent. They are survived by their two sons, Jospeh Szymanski of Charleston, Graham Szymanski and wife Holly of Clinton; and three grandchildren of Graham and Holly, Kaser, Leland, and Paisley. Mark was also survived by four sisters, Anna Wing, Chris Padgett, Donna Toney, and Elizabeth Davies; one brother; Alexander Szymanski; three nieces; six nephews and one great nephew.
A memorial service will be held on Friday, November 17, 2017, at 2:00P.M. at the First Presbyterian Church of Clinton.
