Martha Penland Devore

Martha Penland DeVore of Kinards, SC died unexpectedly on Thursday, March 16, 2017.
She was born in Laurens, SC and was a daughter of the late Hubert and Helen Penland.
Mrs. DeVore was retired from Unifor Brass Forgings, was a Member of Old Time Baptist Church in Kinards, SC and was an inactive member of Rocky Springs Presbyterian Church. She was a graduate of Laurens High School and Limestone College, a member of the South Carolina Caller’s Association as a line dance instructor, a member of the Old 96 A-Model Club and the Limestone Alumni Association.
She is survived by her husband, Donald DeVore of the home; a daughter, Leigh DeVore Smith (Marty) of Spartanburg; her two grandsons, Hunter and Hayden Smith; two brothers, Larry Penland (Lynda), Nickie Penland (Linda); two sisters, Carolyn Riddle (Billy); Lucy Crowder all of Laurens. She is also survived by 4 nephews and a niece.
In addition to her parents she is predeceased by a brother; Lewis Penland.
Graveside services will be conducted Sunday, March 19th at 3:00 P.M. at Rocky Spring Presbyterian Church Cemetery, Laurens, SC by Rev. Doug Ferqueron.
The family will receive friends in the Church Fellowship Hall following the service.
