Martha Elizabeth (Betty) Cannon Parsons, age 85 of Laurens, S.C. passed away May 31, 2013 at Agape’ Senior Assisted Living.
She was born in Laurens on August 17, 1927 to the late Charles B. and Myrtle M. Griffin Cannon.
Mrs. Parsons was a graduate of Winthrop College, and taught in the public schools of Sumter, Oconee, Greenville, and Laurens Counties. She also enjoyed being a Pink Lady, gardening, and sewing.
She is survived by her sisters Myrtle G. Cannon of Laurens and Jacquelyn C. Socha of Aiken, SC; a daughter-in-law, Akiko Parsons, a granddaughter, Hanako Parsons of Fukuska, Japan, and niece, Jacquelyn Kane of Aiken and nephew, Jody Socha of Missouri.
She was predeceased by her son Ronald Wayne Parsons, and her brother Charles B. Cannon.
Graveside Services will be held on Sunday, June 2nd at 2 pm at Forest Lawn Cemeteries and Mausoleums with Rev. Tony Crouch officiating.
In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to, Alzheimer's Association South Carolina, 4124 Clemson Blvd., Suite L, Anderson, SC 29621.
