Dateline-Clinton, SC, Martha F. Prather, age 73 of 808 E. Ferguson St., died Wednesday, Feb. 1st, in Self Regional Medical Center.
She was born in Oconee County and was a daughter of the late John T. and Alma Cecelia Whitten Ferguson and step-mother Hattie O’Dell Ferguson.
She was retired as Assistant Supervisor of Cloth Room #2 at Clinton Mills; was a member of Broad Street United Methodist Church where she was in the choir and was a Sunday School Teacher. She also served as an officer with the S. C. Rural Letter Carriers Auxiliary.
Surviving are her husband, Thomas W. Prather of the home, one son and daughter-in-law, John W. Prather and Joy C. Prather of Clinton; one daughter, Cecelia A. Prather of Clinton, one brother, Billy O’Dell of Newberry, one sister, Elizabeth Sligh of Newberry, a sister-in-law, Lorraine Ferguson Martin of Greenwood, grandson, Scott T. Prather, granddaughter, Melissa Prather Entrekin and husband, Andy; three great grandchildren, John Michael Entrekin, Anna Grace Entrekin and Mark Thomas Entrekin.
She was predeceased by two brothers, Rudolph A. Ferguson and Buck O’Dell and one sister, Frances Bannister.
Funeral services will be conducted Friday, Feb. 3rd at 3:00 p.m. in Broad Street United Church with burial in Rosemont Cemetery.
The family will receive friends Thursday evening from 7 to 9 p.m. at the Gray Funeral Home.
