Martha Pearson Simpson Patterson, age 81, of 1302 Patterson Plant Road, died Wednesday, August 17, 2011 in National Health Care of Clinton.
She was born in Laurens County and was a daughter of the late Tres Oliver and Bessie Mae Owings Pearson. She was a member of
Patterson Chapel United Methodist Church in Lanford and the United Methodist Women of the Church.
Surviving are her husband, William Anthony Patterson, three children, Martha Ann Arant and husband, Jake of Chappells, Edgar Randell Simpson and wife, Pam and Bess Patterson Caldwell and husband, Tim all of Lanford, one sister, Marie Penland of Gray Court, five grandchildren, Andrea Davis Parsons and husband, Shannon, Jon-Michael Davis and wife, Summer, Leigh Anne Simpson, Travis Simpson and Timothy Caldwell; five great-grandchildren, Benjamin Parsons, Mason Parsons, Samuel Parsons, Briley Davis and Paxton Davis.
Mrs. Patterson was predeceased by her first husband, Edgar C. Simpson and a son, Richard Simpson.
A cryptside service will be conducted at Forest Lawn Cemetery on Thursday, August 18th at 4:00 p.m.
The family will be at the home of Beth and Tim Caldwell, 1458 Patterson Plant Road, Lanford, SC
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital, 262 Danny Thomas Place, Memphis, TN 38105 or Solaris Hospice, 208 Adley Way, Greenville, SC 29607.
