Mary Elizabeth Burgess, age 33, of Cross Hill, wife of James Griffin passed away early Monday morning, April 18th at Self Memorial Hospital.
Born May 23rd, 1988 in Greenwood, South Carolina; Mary was the daughter of Margaret Lanford and Rick Burgess.
Mary attended Clinton High School and Piedmont Technical School and was self employed as a house cleaner and cherished her time as a homemaker. She spent many enjoyable hours in her flower gardens and caring for her rescue cats.
In addition to her husband James of the home, she is survived by her newborn son, Cannon Ja’Khi Griffin, son Dorian James Burgess, and stepsons Jamaurea Griffin and Damarius Griffin. Mary also had a beloved stepdaughter Shundrail Bluford and grandson, Mi’Kayden. Mary was much loved by her brother Chris Moore (Melissa), nephew Harrison and nieces Taylor and Graycen, and brother Will Moore (Alexis), nephew Rowan and niece Aspen.
Mary was predeceased by three angel babies. Also, Mary was much loved by maternal grandparents, William and Elizabeth Gray and paternal grandparents, Lois and J. D. Horne.
Funeral Services will be held at Liberty Springs Presbyterian Church of Cross Hill on Saturday 23rd of April at 1:00 with Pastor Andrew Perrie and Pastor Ray Pilgrim officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
