Mary Ellen Ward, age 81, of 286 Compton Road, passed away Thursday, February 5, 2015 at Hospice of Laurens County.
She was born in Laurens County on February 6, 1933 and was a daughter of the late William A. and Mary Elizabeth Medlock Cannon.
Mrs. Ward was retired from the City of Clinton Treasurer’s Office and was a member of Calvary Baptist Church where she taught Sunday School.
She is survived by her husband, George Tedford Ward, Sr. of the home; her son George Tedford Ward, Jr. (Janice) of Clinton; her daughters, Deminia Huff (Frank) of Simpsonville and Georgia Alexander (Mike) of Mountville; six grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
She was predeceased by a grandson, Grayson Ward.
Graveside services will be held at Rosemont Cemetery on Sunday, February 8th at 2 PM with Rev. Leland Nelson officiating.
The family will receive friends after the service at Calvary Baptist Church Social Hall.
