Marya Petty Gilliam, age 52, of Clinton, SC, widow of Chris Gilliam, passed away Thursday, August 8, 2024 at Hospice of Laurens County.
Born May 24, 1972 in Laurens, SC, she was a daughter of Ann Mahaffee of Simpsonville, stepmother, Debra Petty of Clyde, NC, and the late William Jackson Petty, Jr. Marya was a Nurse with Davita Dialysis and was formerly employed with Torrington Bearing Company. She was a member of the First Pentecostal Holiness Church.
She is survived by her daughters, Kodie Johnson (Zac) of Piedmont, Kuree Cunningham (Layne) of Clinton, and Madison Hoke (Tyrese Booker) of Clinton; her stepchildren, Kendall Gilliam (Erica) of Utah, Hanna Gilliam formerly of Clinton; her grandchildren, Robbie, Lilly, Hayes (on the way), Raeah, Caleb, Izzy, Khloe, and Khole; her sisters, Nisty Smith (John Cotney) of Clinton, Sherry Dye (Byron) of Myrtle Beach, and Charli Haro (Tony) of Simpsonville.
In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by her nanny and papa, Bill and Lona Petty.
Funeral Services will be held at 2:30 PM on Sunday, August 11, 2024 at the Clinton First Pentecostal Holiness Church with Rev. Mark Entrekin and Rev. Sherrill Green officiating. Burial will follow at the Rosemont Cemetery.
The family will receive friends Saturday evening, August 10th from 6:00-8:00 PM at Gray Funeral Home of Clinton.
