Mary Brock Simpson

Dateline-Clinton, SC

Mary Brock Simpson, age 90, widow of James “Shike” Simpson, and former resident of Joanna, SC died Wednesday, Aug. 13th at Bailey Manor.
She was born in Kinards, SC and was a daughter of the late Luther and Willie Mae Brock.
Mrs. Simpson, who was loved and affectionately known as Mama Mary was retired from Whitten Center and was a former employee of Anderson Hosiery and a member of Epworth United Methodist Church.
Surviving are her daughter-in-law, Toni Reaves Jolly of Montgomery, AL; two grandsons, Dave and Mike Reaves, granddaughter-in-law, Stefanie Reaves; five great grandchildren, Dustin, Jordon, Coleman, Brock and Alex Reaves and many nieces and nephews.
Mrs. Simpson was preceded in death by one son, Glenn B. Reaves, a great grandson, Kyle Reaves, a sister, Mildred Jackson, and two brothers, Hugh and Luther (Squat) Brock, two nephews, Jeff Brock and Bud Jackson.
A special thanks goes to Mama Mary’s caretaker, Cindy Bonds who has been by her side for a long time. Also the family would like to thank Lisa Kizer, Rita Stanley, Joe Rieland, Rev. Art Scott, and Sharon Scott and the aids that took wonderful care of her these past three weeks.
Funeral services will be conducted Friday, Aug. 15th at 4:00 p.m. in the Gray Funeral Home Chapel with burial in Pinelawn Memory Gardens.
The family will receive friends from 3:00 to 4:00 p.m. at the funeral home of Friday.
