Mary Crystal Pitts, wife of David T. Pitts Jr. of Clinton died Tuesday, September 4th at the age of 64.
She was very active in both her church and the community. A long-time member of the First Presbyterian Church of Clinton and director of the Laurens County Foster Grandparent Program, she made many friends and was much loved.
She was born in Richmond, VA to the late Christine Edwards Parks and Woodrow L. Parks of Stone Mountain, GA. She was a graduate of Shorter College and Clemson University in Biology and Plant Cytology.
Crystal is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, Thom and Joanna Pitts of Brooklyn, NY; daughter Emily Pitts of Athens, GA; sisters Susan Black of Roswell, GA and Gretchen Bateski of Savannah, GA; brother David M. Parks of Anniston, AL; and a large extended family.
Visitation will be held Thursday from 6:00 to 9:00 p.m. at Gray Funeral Home in Clinton. Funeral services will be on Friday at 11:00 a.m. at the First Presbyterian Church of Clinton. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
