Mary Frances Katzberg

Mary Frances Katzberg passed away on Friday, August 8th in Clinton, South Carolina.
Mrs. Katzberg was the wife or Dr. Arthur J. Katzberg of Clinton who were married for 66 years. Mary Frances, “Mae”, was born on April 21, 1920 in Renno, South Carolina, and was the daughter of Withrow Long Wier and Fannie Louise Ray of Laurens County and was a descendant of the earliest settlers of the upstate.
She is survived by her husband, Dr. Katzberg; her sons, Stephen J. Katzberg, PhD, and his wife Jamie Williams Katzberg of Orangeburg, South Carolina, and Richard Wier Katzberg, MD, and wife Nancy Noonan Katzberg of Sacramento, California; five grandchildren, Joseph Robert Wier Katzberg of Greenville, North Carolina, Jenna Kempton Katzberg of Los Angeles, California, Kimberly Ann Katzberg of New York City, New York, Maegan Leigh Withrow Katzberg Evans of Wilmington, North Carolina, and Richard Wier Katzberg, Jr. of Los Angeles, California.
Mrs. Katzberg was predeceased by her sister, Jacqueline, “Jackie”, Baldwin of Clinton.
Graveside services will be conducted on Tuesday, August 12th at 2:00 p.m. with interment in Duncan’s Creek Presbyterian Church cemetery.
The family will receive friends Monday evening from 6:00 – 7:30 p.m. at the funeral home.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to Hospice of Laurens County, P.O. Box 178, Clinton, SC 29325 or the Presbyterian Home, 801 Musgrove Street, Clinton, SC 29325.
The family would like to express its appreciation for the care given by the Presbyterian Home and the many kindnesses, great and small, of the Home’s staff.
