Mary Frances Scruggs Truluck, age 95, formerly of Clinton, and widow of Rembert Truluck, Sr., died Sunday, June 17, 2007 at Martha Franks Retirement Center in Laurens.
She was born in Greenwood and was the daughter of the late Jack and Georgia Furqueron Scruggs of McCormick.
Mrs. Truluck was an Alumnus of Converse College and Georgia Carolina Business College and was an Executive Secretary and Treasurer of their business, Truluck Printing Company for 30 years. She was a member of the Steven D. Lee Chapter of the United Daughters of the Confederacy, was a member of the First Baptist Church where she taught the young people for many years and was a member of the Fidelils Class. She also was a co-founder of the Clinton Garden Club. She also served for a year as a volunteer Missionary in Malawi, Africa under the Southern Baptist Mission Service Corp.
Surviving are a son, Dr. Rembert Truluck, Jr. of Greenville; a daughter, Dr. Jackqueline Cook Warren of Fountain Inn; four grandchildren, Deborah Phillips of Lawrenceville, GA, Russell Truluck of Travelers Rest, Susan Truluck of Summerville, and Forrest Cook of Davenport, CA; four great-grandchildren, Sean Cook of Gainesville, GA, Emma Frances Cook of Davenport, CA, Daniel Phillips of Lawrenceville, GA, and Ashley Truluck of Travelers Rest; a sister, Catherine Hanna of McCormick and a number of nieces and nephews.
She was predeceased by a grandson, Daniel Cook.
Graveside services will be conducted Thursday June 21st at 2:30 p.m. at Pinelawn Memory Gardens followed by a memorial service at 4:00 p.m. at the Martha Franks Chapel.
