Maude Ellis Durant

January 7, 1901 — November 28, 2006

Maude Ellis DuRant died Thursday, Dec. 28th at the Presbyterian Home in Summerville.
She was born in Savannah, GA and was the daughter of the late George H. and Florence Roche Ellis.
She was married to the late Rev. Marion Ashton DuRant for 62 years and served faithfully in various church positions including the Presbytery Women of the Church. Mrs. DuRant was a life–long member of the Presbyterian Church and most recently First Presbyterian Church of Abbeville, SC.
Surviving are three grandsons, Adam Roe Andrews III of Fleming, GA, Marion DuRant Andrews of Chattanooga, TN, and George Ellis Andrews of Savannah, GA; and five great-grandchildren.
In addition to her husband, she was predeceased by a son, Patrick Ashton DuRant and a daughter, Florence Ellis Andrews.
Graveside services will be conducted Saturday, Dec. 30th at 3:00 p.m. in Rosemont Cemetery in Clinton, SC.
There will be a memorial service held on Sunday, Dec. 31st at 2:00 p.m. in the chapel at the Presbyterian Home in Summerville, SC.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Thornwell Home for Children, P.O. Box 60, Clinton, SC 29325.
Gray Funeral Home of Clinton is serving the family.
