Merrill Walters, age 79, of 63 Bar-B-Villa Rd. died Saturday, March 5, 2011 in the NHC of Clinton.
He was born in Lumberton, NC and was the son of the late Willie Brown and Emma Price Walters.
Mr. Walters was retired as superintendant of Standard Plywood in Clinton and was a member and honorary deacon of the Lydia Pentecostal Holiness Church.
He is survived by his wife, Carrie Harrelson Walters of the home; a son and daughter-in-law, Wayne and Libby Walters of Columbia; a daughter and son-in-law, Jean and James Copeland of Clinton; a brother, Dewey Mack Price of Lumberton, NC; three sisters, Shirley Barnes of Fayetteville, NC, Irene Barnes and Joyce Bell both of Merritt, NC; 5 grandchildren, Jamie Bigham, Janice Farmer, Josh Walters, Ashley Walters and Candi Zoglman and 12 great grandchildren.
Services will be conducted Monday at 2:00 p.m. in the Lydia Pentecostal Holiness Church with entombment at Pinelawn Memory Gardens.
The family will receive friends Sunday from 7:00 to 9:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
The family will be at the home of his daughter, Jean Copeland, 303 Old Colony Rd., Clinton.
