Mertie Ree "Mutt' Simmons

Mertie Ree “Mutt” Simmons, age 86 of 23488 Hwy 72 East died Thursday, April 19, 2012 in the Spartanburg Regional Medical Center.
She was born in Lexington County and was a daughter of the late John Clarence and Rosa Lynn Risinger Oswald.
Mrs. Simmons was a beloved mother and grandmother and leaves a legacy of love and service to her many friends and family. She was a member of the Davidson St. Baptist Church.
Surviving are her husband, Marvin Simmons of the home; three sons, Larry Simmons of Spartanburg, Jimmy Simmons of Waterloo, Tony Simmons of Cross Hill and a daughter, Debbie Clevenger of Clinton; ten grandchildren and seventeen great grandchildren.
She was predeceased by seven brothers and sisters and was the last surviving member of her immediate family.
A memorial service will be conducted Saturday, April 21st at 3:00 pm in the Davidson St. Baptist Church.
The family will receive friends and hour before the service from 2:00 to 3:00 p.m. at the church.
In lieu of flowers the family request that memorials be made to the Davidson St. Baptist Church, 400 Davidson St., Clinton, SC 29325.
