Mickey O'Shields Riley

Mickey O’Shields Riley, age 82 passed away Friday, November 24, 2023 at the Prisma Health Laurens County Hospital.
She was born in Whitmire, SC on January 8, 1941 and was a daughter of the late J.B. and Alice Ballard O’Shields.
Mrs. Riley was a homemaker, wife and mother. She was very active in Scouting serving in several volunteer and leadership roles through the years. She received scouting’s highest honor the Silver Beaver Award. Mickey was a member of the First Baptist Church of Clinton where she taught Sunday School for over 40 years and was active in the church choir. She will be remembered for the joy she shared and her servant’s heart.
Surviving are her husband of 63 years, Ray A. Riley, Sr.; five sons, Ray A. Riley, Jr. of Clinton, Tim Riley (Connie) of Irmo, Todd Riley (Laurie) of Greenwood, Steve Riley (Dana) of Greenwood, Alex Riley (Mary-Wallace) of Clinton; fourteen grandchildren; Chris Giles (Elizabeth), Paul Giles (Chantel), Ray A. Riley III (Johanna), Daina Riley Phillips (Evan), Travis McMurry, Tanner Riley (Raine), Jordan Riley (Alyssa) Abigail Riley, Lindsey Riley Turner (Brad), Chandler Couick, Lauren Hammond (Stephen Blackwell), Parker Hammond, Daniel Riley, Lydia Riley and a grandchild at heart, Natlie Barrineau Argueta; four great grandchildren, Theo Phillips, Riley Turner, Greyson Blackwell, Hadley Blackwell and one on the way.
In addition to her parents she was predeceased by a sister, Sharon Whiteford, brother, Jimmy O’Shields and two daughters-in-law, Gail Riley and Becky Bostic Riley.
Funeral services will be conducted Tuesday, Nov. 28th at 2:00 P.M. at the First Baptist Church of Clinton with Rev. Tara Webb and Mr. Buddy Bridges officiating. The family will greet friends in the church sanctuary following the service. A private burial will be conducted at Pinelawn Memory Gardens.
In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to the Music Fund of the First Baptist Church of Clinton, PO Box 95, Clinton, SC 29325.
The family will be gathering locally, Monday and Tuesday at the home of her son, Alex Riley, 104 Sumter St., Clinton, SC 29325 other times the families will be at their respective homes.
