Mildred Ester Benson Starnes

Mildred Ester Benson Starnes age 84 passed away Tuesday, August 13, 2024 at her home.
She was born in Greenwood, SC on Dec. 18, 1939 and was a daughter of the late George Washington Benson and Mary Emma Beard Benson.
Mrs. Starnes partnered with her husband and together they owned Starnes Construction. She enjoyed the flowers in her yard and being with her family.
She is survived by her husband of 49 years, William Martin Starnes; the children they shared, Mary McCullum (Ron) of Woodruff; Randall Martin Starnes (Lynn) of Clinton, Melissa Sharleen Calvert of Laurens, Ray Allen Starnes of Knoxville, TN, Heath Calvert (Amanda) of Mountville; her grandchildren, Michelle Morgan; Mike Arnold, Jacqueline Charlene Riopel, JR. Rodger Dale Woods, Kala Roberts, Christopher James Collins, Crystal Sharleen Collins, Anthony Lee Collins, Jessica Underwood, Phillip Starnes, Julie Mitchum, Joel Polson, Alisha Edge, Tabitha Boatwright, Adam Ridings, Josh Ridings, Cole Calvert; her sisters-in-law, Polly Phillips, Martha Davenport (Richard), and Sarah Dickens; and many great grandchildren and great-great grandchildren.
In addition to her parents she is preceded in death by children, Michael, Glenda, Caroline, and Tina; her grandchildren, Steve William Mann and Chelsea Calvert; her sisters, Joyce Hellams and Barbara Benson;
Graveside services will be held Thursday, August 15, 2024 at 2:00 PM at Pinelawn Memory Gardens.
