Mitzie Loretta Hanks

Mitzie Loretta Hanks, age 84, resident of Hanks Road, Laurens, widow of John Hanks, passed away Thursday, February 17, 2022, at her home.
Born December 4, 1937 in Clinton, SC, she was a daughter of the late Henry Alvin Caughman and Geneva Hedgepath Caughman. Mitzie worked for Connie Maxwell Children’s Home for many years and truly enjoyed her time there. She loved going on mission trips with her church, especially enjoying time she spent with the children.
She is survived by her son, David Hanks (Beth) of Lexington, SC; her daughter, Rhonda Freeman of Laurens; her grandchildren, Luke Freeman (Taylor), Lauren Hanks, and John Michael Hanks; great-grandchildren, Ian Freeman, and John Freeman; step-grandson, Mason Coleman (Alicia); step-great grandchildren, Savannah and Bryce Coleman; her brothers, Tracy Caughman (MaryAnne), Tommy Caughman (Phyllis); her sisters, Janice Taylor and Diane Charles (Gary).
Funeral Services will be held Monday, February 21, 2022 at 2 PM at Bellview Baptist Church with Rev. Darren Rood officiating. Burial will follow in the Bellview Baptist Church Cemetery.
The family will receive friends prior to the service from 1 PM - 2 PM at the church.
