Myrtle Marie Brock, age 79 and longtime resident of Whitmire, passed away Monday, February 22, 2016 at her residence in Easley where she resided with her sister Anne Brock Smith and her niece Laura Lee Courtney.
She was born in Whitmire on December 21, 1936 and was a daughter of the late George Dewey Brock, Sr. and Lucille Bridges Brock.
Myrtle was a member of the Whitmire Presbyterian Church and will be remembered as a very special sister.
She is survived by her siblings, Jack Gilbert Brock (Marge), Willie Brock Miller, Oliver David Brock (Flavia), Grace Brock Bradley (Lee), Anne Brock Smith, Melvin Michael Brock (Jeanette), Barbara Brock Mitchell (John), Linda Dale Brock, Jean Brock Alewine (Ray).
Myrtle was predeceased by four siblings, Phyllis Jane Brock, George Dewey Brock, Jr., Don Roland Brock, and Larry Thomas Brock.
Funeral services will be held on Thursday, February 25th at 3 PM at the Gray Funeral Home Chapel of Whitmire with burial in Whitmire Cemetery.
The family will receive friends before the service, from 2 to 3 PM at the funeral home.
