Nellie Gettys Campbell

August 2, 1927 — May 22, 2016

Nellie Gettys Campbell age 88, of 301 Calvert Ave. and widow of Ed Campbell passed away Sunday, May 22, 2016 at Hospice of Laurens County.
She was born in Calhoun Falls, SC and was a daughter of the late Irwin Finley and Lillian Hook Gettys.
Mrs. Campbell was a very active lifelong member of the First Presbyterian Church of Clinton, serving the church as a Sunday school teacher, member of the Presbyterian Women and as elder and elder emeritus. Mrs. Campbell and her husband were avid supporters of Presbyterian College.
Surviving are two sons, Gary Campbell (Jennifer) of Greenville, George Campbell (Martha) of White, GA; two daughters, Brenda Parrish (Tommy) of Clinton, Susan Satterfield (Marty) of Clinton; three brothers, Irwin Gettys, Jim Gettys, David Gettys; three sisters, Hildreth Strom, Vera Hood, Margaret Stanley Pyle; five grandchildren, Chris Campbell, Scott Campbell, James Edward Satterfield, Bailey Campbell, Cailyn Campbell; four great grandchildren, Jack, Sam, Jackson and John Campbell.
In addition to her parents and husband she was predeceased by her sister, Barbara Strom.
A memorial service will be conducted Wednesday, May 25th at 10:00 A.M. in the First Presbyterian Church, conducted by Dr. Jeri Parris Perkins. The memorial service will be lived stream and can be watched at www.fpcclinton.org .
The family will receive friends following the memorial service in the church fellowship hall.
