Nellie Farmer Jester, age 87, formerly of Laurens St. and widow of Robert Benjamin Jester died Wednesday, November 19, 2008 at Wildwood Downs in Columbia.
She was born in Greenwood and was the daughter of the late William Wesley and Susan Clifford Farmer.
She was a former employee of Joanna Mills and Whitten Center.
Mrs. Jester was an active member and Sunday School teacher at the First Baptist Church of Joanna and was a member of the Eastern Star.
She is survived by two daughters, Veda Smith of Columbia and Darlene Tobias of Joanna; a sister, Sara Elmolene Nix of Laurens; seven grandchildren and thirteen great grandchildren and one great-great grandchild.
She was predeceased by eight siblings.
Funeral services will be conducted Friday at 11:00 a.m. at the Gray Funeral Home Chapel with interment at Pinelawn Memory Gardens.
The family will receive friends Friday from 10:00 to 11:00 a.m. at the funeral home.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to First Baptist Church of Joanna, 301 Magnolia St., Joanna, SC 29351.
