Nellie Lawson Moore
Nellie Lawson Moore, age 78, of 600 Bailey St. and widow of James Macon Moore died Sunday, January 11, 2009 in the Hospice House of Laurens County.
She was born in Spartanburg County and was the daughter of the late Lanham L. and Pearl Nelson Lawson.
Mrs. Moore was retired from Clinton Mills, was a member of the Old Timer’s Club and Calvary Baptist Church. She was the Mama or Nanny to everyone at the Cross Roads Store.
She is survived by a son and daughter-in-law, James Mitchell and Ann Moore of Clinton; three daughters and son-in-law, Peggy Moore, Kim Moore and Sherri and Marty Heaton all of Clinton; two brothers, Homer Lawson and Sam Lawson both of Clinton; a sister, Jeanette Stroud of Clinton; two grandsons, Capt. James M. Moore, Jr. and his wife, Lana and James Cody Ray Heaton and two great grandchildren, Alexis and Ashley Moore.
She was predeceased by two brothers, Elbert Lawson and Shorty Lawson and a sister, Lydia Belle Leopard.
Funeral services will be conducted Wednesday at 2:00 p.m. in the Gray Funeral Home Chapel with interment at Rosemont Cemetery.
The family will receive friends Tuesday from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
The family will be at the home at 600 Bailey St.
