Nola Marie Lipps Vlock, age 73, of Jefferson, Ohio, wife of Larry Vlock, was released from her battle with Alzheimers on January 31,2016.
She was born on Christmas day in 1942 in Ashtabula, OH, and was the daughter of the late Layton and Glenna Fetters Lipps.
Nola enjoyed her family and taking care of her three children as they grew up. Nola was an active leader of Girl Scouts, 4-H, Jefferson Area Music Boosters,Wonderful Wednesday church activities, and volunteered for the Ashtabula County Covered Bridge Festival for many years. She was also a member of the Sheffield Fire Department Ladies Auxillary and helped with many fire department functions. Many will remember her caring for their infants when she worked at Play and Learn Day Care Center. Several years ago she and Larry began showing draft horses and formed L & N Belgians. She loved to take the horses to the local fairs, and what wonderful friends they made along the way. Nola was a member of the Jefferson United Methodist Church.
Surviving in addition to her husband of 53 years; are children, Annette (Homer) Elwood of Laurens, SC, Darla (Bill) Painter of Jefferson, OH, Scott (Monica) Vlock of Union, SC; grandchildren; Zachary Elwood and Hunter Elwood, Courtney Painter (Kiley) Smith, Aaron Painter, Abigail, Graham, and Anna Claire Vlock and a great grandson, Keaton Ray Smith.
In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by a son, Lonny Layton Vlock, and her three brothers; Leroy Lipps, Lee Robert Lipps, and Leslie Lipps.
Funeral services will be conducted at 11:00 AM on Thursday, February 4, 2016, at Baumgardner Funeral & Cremation Service, 134 Prospect St., Andover, OH, with burial to follow at Hayes Cemetery, Wayne township.
