Norman Guy Dover, Sr. age 83, of 580 Patterson Plant Rd. died Thursday, February 28, 2013 in the Hospice House of Laurens County.
He was born in Spruce Pine, NC and was the son of the late Elmer and Cora McKinney Dover.
Mr. Dover was retired from Inman Mills, was a member of the Patterson Chapel United Methodist Church and was a U.S. Army veteran with the 315th Signel Construction Battalion, Company C during the Korean Conflict.
He is survived by his wife, Virginia Irene Cooper Dover of the home; a son and daughter-in-law, Norman G. Dover, Jr. and wife, Robin of Clinton; a daughter and son-in-law, Lynn Wilson and husband, Stephen of Oak Ridge, NC; 9 brothers, Dee Dover, Claude Dover, Billy Dover, Bobby Dover, Justin Dover, Tony Dover, Jerry Dover, Kenneth Dover and Ronnie Dover; 3 sisters, Pat Billets, Zella Kennemore and Diane Robertson; grandchildren, Jared Wilson and wife, Desiree, Andrew Wilson, Trent Dover, Ryan Dover and Aaron Dover; and a great grandson, Benjamin Wilson.
He was predeceased by a brother, Bryce Dover and a grandson, Matthew Wilson.
Funeral services will be conducted Sunday at 2:30 P.M. at Patterson Chapel United Methodist Church. The family will receive friends immediately following the service.
