Odus L. Young, age 89, formerly of US Hwy. 76 E., died Wednesday February 29, 2012 at the Martha Franks Retirement Center in Laurens.
Mr. Young was born in Clinton and was a son of the late J. Willie and Era Simpson Young.
He was a manager of CWS Guano Co., a member of the Hurricane Baptist Church, a veteran of W.W. II, member of the American Legion Post #56 , a member of the Laurens County Cattleman’s Association and a Gideon.
He is survived by his wife of 60 years, Cornelia (Connie) R. Young of the home; two sons, Ron (Kathy) Young of Clemson and Mac Young of Laurens; a daughter Pam (Walker) Crosby of Aiken; a brother, Charles Young of Clinton; a sister Martha Watts of Clinton; also 8 grandchildren and 6 great grandchildren.
He was predeceased by two brothers, Hugh Young and Carroll Young; two sisters, Ame Caldwell and Bernice Watts.
Funeral services will be conducted Friday, March 2nd at 2:00 p.m. in Hurricane Baptist Church by Rev. Tom Faucette with burial in the church cemetery.
The family will receive friends immediately following the service in the Abel Family Life Center.
