Patricia Smith Welch, 73, of Clinton passed away at North Greenville Hospital, LTAC on Friday, August 30, 2024.
Pat was born in Clinton, South Carolina. She was the daughter of the late Horace R. Smith and Doris Wilson Smith. Graduated from Clinton High School. She worked at Bishop Tires, Thornwell Home and School for Children, American Metric, and retired from Piedmont Pest Control. Pat was an active member of Bethany Presbyterian Church where she served as Sunday School Teacher, Deacon, and Elder. She was also heavily involved with Bethany Summer Youth Camp for many years. She filled many roles but her passion was teaching the youth Puppetry for ministry. Pat also worked as a Den Mother for the Cub Scouts. For over 25 years she prepared a meal for Boy Scout Troop 833 as well as members in Midweek Bible study. Even as she had to slow down because of illness, she helped start a puppet ministry at Queens Memorial Church in Newberry. Pat always had a winning smile and never met a stranger. She had a way of making people feel at ease and welcome. Pat had a servant's heart, always ready with aid and a smile for any who reached out to her.
