Dateline – Clinton
Patty Wooten Dellinger, age 79, of 759 Forest Road, passed away Monday, March 21, 2016 at the Laurens County Memorial Hospital.
She was born in Laurens County and was a daughter of the late Obie Lee and Maggie Clardy Godfrey.
Mrs. Dellinger was a retired employee of Whitten Center and a founder of the Sunshine Sunday School Class at Calvary Baptist Church where she was an active member. She was a volunteer with the Children’s Miracle Network with Walmart as well as a volunteer at NHC of Clinton.
She is survived by her husband, Glenn Dellinger of the home; her son, Cecil Wooten; her daughters, Deborah Owen Zetrouer (Everett) and Toni Wooten Garrett (Caroll), all of Clinton; her brother, Jack Godfrey of Clinton; seven grandchildren; ten great-grandchildren; eight step-children and numerous step-grandchildren and step-great-grandchildren.
She was predeceased by three brothers, Obie Lee (O.L.) Godfrey, Jr., Billy Godfrey and Clardy Gray Godfrey.
A memorial service will be held Thursday, March 24th at 4 PM at the Calvary Baptist Church by Rev. Leland Nelson and Rev. Phil Bryson.
The family will receive friends on Wednesday evening from 6 to 8:30 PM at the funeral home.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Calvary Baptist Church, 702 N Sloan Street, Clinton, SC 29325.
The family will be at the home of her daughter, Deborah Zetrouer, 125 Fair Drive, Clinton, SC 29325.
