Polly Patterson Holmes

Polly Patterson Holmes, age 85, of 972 Patterson Plant Rd. and widow of Henry C. Holmes, Sr. died Wednesday, December 3, 2008 in the Laurens County Hospital following a brief illness.
She was born in Lanford and was the daughter of the late John Miller and Marie Y. Patterson.
Mrs. Holmes was a registered nurse for many years; later working with Roses Unlimited for 17 years and was a member of the Patterson Chapel United Methodist Church.
She is survived by a son, Henry C. Holmes, Jr. and wife, Joe Ann of Lanford; two daughters, Kathryn Holmes Hale and husband, Jim of Newberry and Margaret Ann West and husband, Dennis of Woodruff; two sisters, Conie P. Prince of Lanford and Joan P. Strickland of Camden; 6 grandchildren, Billie Clark, Ross Werner, Garrett Holmes, Chris Tindal, C.J. West and Rebecca Holmes; a great granddaughter, Annagrace Clark.
Funeral services will be conducted Saturday at 2:00 p.m. in the Patterson Chapel United Methodist Church with interment in the church cemetery.
The family will receive friends at her home.
