Ralph D. Childs, Sr.

Ralph D. Childs, Sr. age 80 of 78 Shadow Wood Drive, died Thursday, February 3, 2011 in the Hospice House of Laurens County.
He was born in Gastonia, N.C. and was the son of the late William Edgar and Lucille Waters Childs.
Mr. Childs was retired from Monsanto and was an employee of Wal-Mart. He was a member of Calvary Baptist Church and a WWII Air Force Veteran.
Surviving are his wife, Shirley Childs of the home; a son, Ralph D. Childs, Jr.; a daughter, Sherry Dorey; a sister, Kathleen (Buddy) Ledford; and five grandchildren.
Funeral services will be conducted on Monday, February 7th at 11:00 a.m. at Calvary Baptist Church.
The family will receive friends Sunday evening from 7:00 to 9:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
