Ralph “Jack” E. Blackwell, Sr., age 73 of 109 Teakwood Dr. died Sunday, Nov. 12th at his home.
He was born in Greenwood and was a son of the late Sherman and Lois Collins Blackwell.
Mr. Blackwell was retired from Clinton Mills and the South Carolina National Guard where he served as Chaplin for 18 years. He was US Army veteran of the Korean War and was a member of the Laurens Church of God.
Surviving are his wife Jean Hamby Blackwell of the home; four sons, Ricky Blackwell of Laurens, Alan Blackwell of Spartanburg, Lamar Robinson and Lee Robinson both of Clinton; two daughters, Tami Meyer of Aiken and Bonnie Hughes of Clinton; one sister, Ellen Vincent of Clinton; sixteen grandchildren and thirteen great grandchildren.
Mr. Blackwell was predeceased by a daughter, Deborah Meador, a sister, Ethel Moore and a grandson, Chad Robinson.
Funeral services will be conducted Wednesday, Nov. 15th at 3:00 p.m. in the Laurens Church of God with burial in Pinelawn Memory Gardens.
The family will receive friends Tuesday evening from 7:00 to 9:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
