Ralph L. Young, Jr. age 69 of 549 Westwoods Dr. died on Sunday, Oct. 17th at the Lexington Medical Center.
He was born in Columbia, SC and was a son of the late Ralph L.Young, Sr. and the late Evelyn Spangler Young.
Mr. Young was a graduate of Greenwood High School and in 1967 received his degree in mechanical engineering from the University of South Carolina. He has been employed with Engineering Design and Testing Corp. for the past 15 years. Mr. Young was a member of the International Association of Arson Investigators and the South Carolina Fraud Investigators, also he was a US Navy veteran. Mr. Young was an avid Striped Bass and Trout fisherman and enjoyed spending time on the Saluda River and also enjoyed gardening in his spare time.
Surviving are his wife, Elizabeth Milam Young of the home; two sons, Ralph L. Young III and his wife, Jaye and their two children, Logan and Dillon of Greenville, Charles Bishop Young and his son, Chaz of Chapin and two sisters, Patricia Inez Anderson of Greenwood and Kathryn Evelyn Newton of Clemson.
A memorial service will be conducted Wednesday, Oct. 20th at 10:00 AM at the Faith Presbyterian Church, 1811 Dutch Fork Rd., Irmo, SC by the Rev. Dr. Karl McAllister.
A private family burial service will be held at Lisbon Presbyterian Church, in Mountville, SC.
