Retha Mae Gossett Eustace age 76, of 202 Davis St. and widow of Marvin “Bonnie” Eustace went to be with her Lord and Savior, Wednesday, Dec. 7, 2016.
She was born in Laurens County and was a daughter of the late George Gossett, Sr. and the late Virginia “Jenny” Quinn Gossett.
For most of her working life, Retha Mae was employed with Clinton Mills working in the spinning department in Plant #2. She later went to work at Thornwell Home for Children in the Day Care and worked with “New Borns” for 10 years. Mrs. Eustace attended and taught Sunday school for the Elementary Age Children and served as church secretary of the Prince of Peace Holiness Church and the First Pentecostal Fire Baptized Holiness Church. She loved and cared for all she knew.
She was the loving mother of, Marvin E. Eustace of Clinton, Jeffrey W. Eustace of Taylors and Bonnie “Sissy” Eustace of the home; one brother, Aaron Gossett of Clinton; her three grandchildren who she loved dearly and who affectionately called her “Grandmommy”, Christian, Tanner Riley and Jadie Eustace all of Laurens and many extended family, nieces and nephews; hospice caregivers, Regina Bryson, nurses, Teresa Nobles and Debbie Godfrey.
In addition to her parents and husband she was predeceased by brothers, Ray Gossett, Sherrill Gossett, George “Doodle Bug” Gossett, Jr.; a sister, Ola Sue Ann Gossett and a granddaughter, Jadyn Eustace.
Funeral services will be conducted Saturday, Dec. 10th at 3:00 p.m. in the Gray Funeral Home Chapel with burial in Pinelawn Memory Gardens.
The body will be taken to the home of her daughter, Bonnie Eustace, 202 Davis St., on Thursday afternoon where it will remain until the day of the service.
